#620 Clans are groups of players that band together! That's all there is to it. There are many clans available to choose from. Each clan has its own membership requirements: minimum levels, application fees, monthly dues, pk status, and the like. Many clans have their own private areas of the game called CLAN HALLS with shopkeepers, transports, and regeneration furniture. You can use the CLAN command to learn more: - Typing CLAN by itself will give you a list of clan related commands. - To see a listing of all clans in the game, type: CLAN INFO - To read more about a single clan, type: CLAN INFO xyz (e.g. CLAN INFO DKA) You can create your own clan! Here's how: - You must be land or space level 40 or higher. - You must have at least two additional people to enroll in your clan. NOTE: They do not need to be logged on at creation time, but must be enrolled in the clan within 24 hours. - You must pay a clan creation fee. It is based on your land or space level as follows: Level 40 or + = 8M credits. Level 60 or + = 6M credits. Level 80 or + = 4M credits. Level 100 = 2M credits. Important things to remember about clans: - Clans sometimes go to war with each other. Choose carefully. - Clans reserve the right to deny anyone membership. - Using your clan treasury to share funds between characters you own is MULTIPLAYING. - Equipment left in Clan Halls does NOT stay there after a crash. - Clan Halls do not provide protection from pkillers in all situations. - Clan comlink can be seen by Generals and higher-level game staff. - Clans must keep an active membership of 3 members or they will be deleted See Also: Clan halls ~ #621 TestMUD is the R&D or 'beta test' version of RotJ that is kept running by the Game Staff. It's where most new zones and code changes are developed, implemented, and debugged. TestMUD is also the only place where mortals are actually allowed to develop and build zones online. TestMUD is currently run by the Masters, with Marky and Hawkwind also responsible for the Mortal Building areas. For information on how to connect to TM or build there, please contact a Master. ***WARNING*** TestMUD is a development MUD and always a work in progress. The code is consistently unstable and crashes are both common and expected. Please make sure that you are mindful of these facts before you come and complain to the Masters about how the game crashes every 5 minutes. ~ #622 In chat mode, anything your character types gets sent as a SAY directly to the room you're in. This INCLUDES GAME COMMANDS! To turn on chat mode, type: chat If you need to type a command during chat mode, prefix it with two slashes '//' To end chat mode, type /s. Example > chat > hey whats up thor? Mook says 'hey whats up thor'? > who 50 Mook says 'who 50' > //sleep You go to sleep. > /s You return to the real world. ~ #623 Available to all with a restring token Usage: restring **action editing is for immortals only The RESTRING command lets you change an object's name, description, and keywords without changing the item's stats. It's useful for 'personalizing' equipment for mortals who win quests, or otherwise. You can restring KEYWORD, SHORT, LONG, and ACTION descriptions. Restrung items do not have permanence and cannot be reloaded. They must be re-created from the original object if the wearer loses it to subberdeath, serverdeath, or a DT. ***IMPORTANT*** We trust people to be responsible with the restring system. If at any time you do a restring which is deemed offensive by the staff, refusal to immediately restring it again may result in your item being confiscated and disposed of. This is a family mud, lets keep it clean. See Also: Token ~ #626 Space Engineer Level 68 Usage: rebuild wreckage object With this ability a Space Engineer can rebuild a hull wreck into a workable ship. The engineer must be creative in the rebuilding process, and so the new ship will have little in common to its original source. Only the size of the ship will remain similar, although the more powerful ships will drop more effective hulls to rebuild. Some NPC ship technicians can also rebuild wrecked hulls, which are obtained from destroyed NPC space mobs, but Engineers will on average produce a better ship with the same materials.
