Flying is an ability desired by many races and species and possessed by a
select few. Toydarians, Qom Qae, and a few other races have wings or the
ability to levitate off the ground. For other species such as mynocks and
beldons it comes naturally. There are Force-enabled items that one can find
which will give you the ability to levitate for a few ticks. This is useful
for traversing rough terrain without losing as many movement points.
If your race has the fly intrinsic or a fly skill, type: FLY
> fly
Paralyse begins to levitate!
> fly
You float gently to the ground.
Short range attack types such as vibroblades will have difficulty landing
on a flying target unless the attacker is also flying.
NOTE: Flying and entering space are incompatible. You must stop flying
before going into a space area. You also cannot sleep while flying.

Enough books have been written on the subject of Role-Playing to fill the
Imperial Libraries. Generally speaking, role playing is when you create a
personality for your character and play the game according to your character's
personality. You might roleplay a young farmhand who has always had latent
Force abilities. Your character would then be a reflection of this
self-created 'alter ego'. Roleplaying, while not a large or critical part of
this particular MUD, is nevertheless a good way to meet like-minded SW Fanatics
and/or a way to add a fifth dimension to your MUD experience. Actions
performed as part of your role play are called IC or In Character actions. An
Actions performed outside of your alter ego are called OOC or Out Of Character
actions. IC and OOC have their own channels: IC and COMLINK.
Example of IC
> emote swings her lightsaber in a deft arc and grins at you.
> say I heard the Rebels have been advancing on the Imperial stronghold at Bilbringi lately.
Example of OOC
> say i got an awesome new video card for my PC today
> emote wants to go see Nickelback in concert tomorrow in Toronto
To begin a roleplaying session, type RP.
***** While in RP mode you are expected to remain IN CHARACTER at all times! *****

The RP command toggles your ROLEPLAY status.
> rp
You begin a roleplaying session.
When in RP mode, you are expected to remain IN CHARACTER!
You will have access to JEDINET, IMPNET, REBNET, SUNNET,
or TECHNET as determined by your faction/class.
***** Please do not talk OOC on these channels! *****
When in RP mode, your character's name and title
will be preceded by your faction or Jedi Order rank.
To leave RP mode, type RP again.

Quickness determines the number of attacks you receive in a fight each
round. The higher your quickness, the more likely you are to receive extra
attacks in combat. There are some spells, skills, and items which will add to
your quickness.

Constitution adds to the number of hit and movement points your character
has. It also plays a vital role in regeneration, and in reducing the damage
done to you by most attacks.

Dexterity is the stat that determines how many items you can carry in your
inventory at once. It is also critical in determining your ability to fight
with many weapon types, especially daggers and lightsabers. Dexterity is
useful in space for helping to evade enemy attacks, and on land, increasing
your dexterity will improve the efficiency of skills such as dodge and adapt.

Wisdom determines how quickly your skills and spells improve when you
practice them and when you use them. Several forms of combat take wisdom into
account, and wisdom also affects the casting cost of spells (although to a
lesser degree than intelligence.) The costs of healing skills and spells are
more heavily affected by Wisdom than other spells and skills.

Intelligence is used to determine how much focus is needed to cast a given
spell, and helps determine whether or not a given spell will succeed (in
conjunction with your practiced level.) It is also used when calculating how
many practice sessions are needed to train a skill, and gives bonuses in force
combat. Intelligence has no effect on focus trains.
