Swindler Level 90
Usage: disarm
Using his/her superior charisma and dexterity, a skilled swindler can
distract an opponent before deftly knocking their weapon from their hands.
Player weapons will fall to their inventory while NPC weapons can either
fall to their inventory or to the ground depending on chance, level and
the mobs awareness. This is an offensive skill, any mistakes on the
swindlers part will no doubt cause some form of retaliation.
If the target is a player, the victim will be unable to wield a weapon
for several seconds due to numb fingers. The draw skill can still be
used.
If the target is a mobile, the victim will deal reduced damage for
a short duration of time. This skill can be used on mobs without
a true weapon object for the damage reduction benefit. This is
dependent on the mobs default attack type. (i.e. Blast for example)
The skill can be used in combat, with reduced chance of success and no
charisma benefits. The skill operates on a 40 second timer.

Paralyse has been a player on Revenge of the Jedi since 1999 and an Immortal

Fun facts about Paralyse, the Evil Sith Lord:

The Jedi Order has been in existence for thousands of years. During this
time, they have trained hundreds of Jedi Padawans and molded them into Jedi
Knights. Some go on to become DEFENDERs, much like Obi-Wan Kenobi; others
train to become one with the force as CONSULARs, joining Yoda, Mace Windu and
Jorus C'baoth, to name a few. Those who seek a balance between force and
combat become SENTINELs, like Ulic Qel-Droma and Corran Horn.
Luke Skywalker founded the modern Jedi Praxeum (Academy) on Yavin 4 in the ruins
of the Massassi temples as a place to revive the Jedi Order and bring balance to
the Galaxy. Many of the most famous of living Jedi can be found there,
practicing their skills and attuning themselves to the powerful Force energies
that flow through all living things.
You, as a player, can become a Jedi either by birth (joining the Jedi guild) or
by training latent Force abilities (PRACTICEing your Force skills) If you choose
to join the Jedi guild to fulfill your destiny as a Force talent, you will
automatically become a Bear Clan in the Jedi Order. By training your abilities
and interacting with famous Consulars and Defenders in the game, you can earn
promotions within the Jedi Order, growing from a Bear Clan into a Padawan, a
Knight, a Jedi Master, or a Council Member. But beware -- the Dark Side is
powerful. Anger, fear, and aggression towards others may result in you being
cast out of the Jedi Order, sending you down a dangerous path towards corruption
and hatred. Jedi Order members have their own private Force comlink
channel -- the JEDINET.

Flying is an ability desired by many races and species and possessed by a
select few. Toydarians, Qom Qae, and a few other races have wings or the
ability to levitate off the ground. For other species such as mynocks and
beldons it comes naturally. There are Force-enabled items that one can find
which will give you the ability to levitate for a few ticks. This is useful
for traversing rough terrain without losing as many movement points.
If your race has the fly intrinsic or a fly skill, type: FLY
> fly
Paralyse begins to levitate!
> fly
You float gently to the ground.
Short range attack types such as vibroblades will have difficulty landing
on a flying target unless the attacker is also flying.
NOTE: Flying and entering space are incompatible. You must stop flying
before going into a space area. You also cannot sleep while flying.

Enough books have been written on the subject of Role-Playing to fill the
Imperial Libraries. Generally speaking, role playing is when you create a
personality for your character and play the game according to your character's
personality. You might roleplay a young farmhand who has always had latent
Force abilities. Your character would then be a reflection of this
self-created "alter ego". Roleplaying, while not a large or critical part of
this particular MUD, is nevertheless a good way to meet like-minded SW Fanatics
and/or a way to add a fifth dimension to your MUD experience. Actions
performed as part of your role play are called IC or In Character actions. An
Actions performed outside of your alter ego are called OOC or Out Of Character
actions. IC and OOC have their own channels: IC and COMLINK.
Example of IC
> emote swings her lightsaber in a deft arc and grins at you.
> say I heard the Rebels have been advancing on the Imperial stronghold at Bilbringi lately.
Example of OOC
> say i got an awesome new video card for my PC today
> emote wants to go see Nickelback in concert tomorrow in Toronto
To begin a roleplaying session, type RP.
***** While in RP mode you are expected to remain IN CHARACTER at all times! *****
