#150 Command: Outpost Usage in Command Center: Outpost There are a number of Outposts on various planets of the Galaxy. Imperial and Rebel faction members can fight over ownership of these outposts in return for bonuses to their faction. Outposts can be claimed by gaining access to the control room and claiming the base. Claiming the base however, will probably require someone who can hack the control console, meaning a slicer or a technician. Slicers have greater skill in this area. Mobile defenders, however, will try to stop you. Players may also battle against you, all Outpost locations are Arena zones, meaning non-loss Player vs. Player combat can occur. (like dueling) Outpost defenses start minimal, but the owning faction can upgrade its defenses to a higher level for a certain credit cost. This upgrade will increase mobile defender levels, add additional defenders, and other features. Each outpost owned by grants all faction members a 1% bonus on exp. Your odds of sending a laser blast back at the attacker depend somewhat upon your dexterity. Things such as custom weapons or items, quest shop items, and even some quest rewards from Immortals can be so personal that no one else could possibly use them. They're just plain too personal! Regardless of how it became that way, when an item is flagged 'Personal' it means that only the true owner and intended recipient can use or wear the item. Personalized items will also respond to the owning players name as a keyword. Note: Items that are built by players are now called 'custom' items. Techs and Smugglers use 'pick'. To use these skills, the player will need to have an item designed for the task. Locks can have different ratings, making them easier or harder than normal to open. These skills require a lot of dexterity. You can damage a lock if you don't successfully open it. This may cause the door to become unpickable and unopenable. No amount of picking, not even using the proper key will open the door. In that case you'll have to find another way to open the door or simply wait until the zone repops. > pick door south > pick safe > slice door south > slice safe See Also: Slicer Smuggler Technician ~ #157 Usage: pilot To travel in space combat, ships need to be piloted. While in space combat, all damage you do is determined by the power of your ship, and its special systems, shields, and armor. Each player has a Pilot level which is separate from the regular Multiclass system. You can gain pilot levels by earning space experience, which is kept separate from other experience. At piloting level 60 you must choose one of 4 piloting specializations. See also: SHIP SYSTEMS - Information on Starship Special Systems. PILOTING - For More information on Basic Pilot Skills.
