#140 Merchants are the select few who have discovered what really makes the galaxy function. Money. Merchants know how to make it, where to keep it, and how to spend it so that they get the best bang for the buck. Very adept at financial transactions, merchants have very few financial difficulties. Merchants are available as a Tertiary or Secondary Class only, and so only can be trained up to level twenty or forty respectively. Merchants at level 20 must choose a subguild to level any further. You should be sure to read it when you login. If you miss it at login, just use this command! ~ #142 Multiplaying is strictly forbidden on this game. Not only is it a cheap way to advance your own characters, it is unfair and it can potentially ruin the game both for you and for others. If you are caught multiplaying, you are liable to be deleted. Meanwhile, here are some examples of multiplaying: 1. Two or more of your characters actively linked on the game at the same time. 2. One actively linked character and one or more linkdead characters. You cannot have Bob playing while Fred is linkdead, regardless of whether or not you are in the same room, in the same zone, with other people, or so on. 3. Direct interaction between two or more of your characters. 4. Transference of equipment or money between characters. If you don't have two or more characters on at the same time, this would not be a great inconvenience. However, giving your equipment or money to another character to hold while you log on your second character, or dropping equipment/cash in one room for another character to pick up later, is illegal. 5. It is also illegal to have a friend play one character while you play another at the same time. This falls under the 'direct interaction between characters' policy. 6. It is illegal to play characters in tandem. This means logging off one character and logging on another to reach a goal. Examples include but are certainly not limited to: Locating objects with one character and retrieving them with another. Attacking a mob until one character is spent then getting the other to finish it off. Casting spells on a group with one character and joining with another. Keep yourself updated on these rules by checking this document from time to time. As you know, as players think of ways to exploit loopholes, new restrictions will be enforced. ~ #143 Multi Wield is a skill available to all players. Once a character reaches a certain proficiency with their weapon class, they become skilled enough to begin training with a weapon held in the other hand. The weapon must be one-handed, and there must be a weapon to do this. Once a certain base proficiency has been met, the player is allowed to train their 'dual' weapon proficiency. Dual daggers, dual sabers, dual blasters, etc. If you are not skilled enough, you will be unable to train this new proficiency. Your base proficiency of daggers, sabers, etc. determines your ability with the weapon class. Training the 'dual' proficiency determines how likely you are to gain the extra hit in combat. The following table hints at how early each class can multi wield. More stars indicate more base skill required. That is simple. This MUD requires that new names be approved by the immortal staff. Your name will be approved or denied. Names that are denied are most often for the following reasons: - Religious names (ie Jesus, Messiah, Aries) - Famous names from other genres, shows, or books - Names from other genres (ie: Star Trek, anime, TV shows, films, etc.) - Obvious real life names (ie: JohnSmith, Kelly, Ryan) - Obscene words or phrases - Any real words(with limited exceptions). Most English words will not be allowed. (ie: Blue, Frog, Time, ABigGreenDuck) We reserve the right to deny any name that we feel does not properly fit into the scheme and feel of the game. All decisions are final and will not be open to appeal. If you are having trouble thinking of a new name, try our web page script: http://rotjmud.com/resources/namegen.html If you are confused about what kind of names have been approved, simply turn to the WHO list and look at all the players who are currently connected. ~ #145 Naval Officers are trained to command and battle large capital ships. With the observe skill, a bounty hunter will take his or her time to observe a future target. Completing this observation will find flaws and weaknesses in the enemy, helping you to cause more damage once combat begins. If you perform any action or are interrupted before your observations are done, the observation will fail. Observe also will enhance the Evade skill. When evading an observed enemy, you will evade an increased number of attacks.
